Melia lazily stretched out on the wide open field as her chestnut fur shone in the morning sun. It was a perfect day for doing absolutely nothing. Azulli's high voice twittered in content as she basked in the sunlight. Melia's gaze wandered over to all the Goennecs in the field, but for some odd reason the bored her. Usually she loved to be the lurker and watch the others. Maybe something interesting will happen down near the watering hole. Melia thought as she sprang to her feet and started to sprint in the direction of the watering hole with Azulli racing after her.

(yep! ) Threonine had been drinking from the watering hole, letting his guard down for just a moment so that he might enjoy himself more. He lapped up the clear liquid greedily, enjoying the satisfaction it gave in quenching his thirst. As he was so involved in this, he didn't hear the sound of approaching paw/hoof steps until they were close to the watering hole. The Prince gave a start, jumping a little and stumbling forward, splashing into the water as he tried to turn around and see who it was.
What he saw was Melia. *Ugh, I hope she didn't see that.* He groaned silently, feeling embarassed. But he tried not to show it, and called out, "Hello!"

Melia giggled as Threonine stumbled into the water, obviously startled by her sudden appearance. She skidded into a halt just a few feet away from The Prince and smiled. "Hello Threonine." Melia cheerfully replied. Azulli tweeted along to Melia's voice and looked at Threonine with curious eyes. Melia dipped her head to take a quick sip of water and then returned her gaze to Threonine. "How has your morning been so far?" She let out a small giggle and added "Besides being frightened by me."

Threonine tilted his head slightly to the side as he listened to Melia talk, his eyes darting from her to the little bird that mimicked her speach patterns and back again. He grinned sheepishly, "Oh, you saw that? Actually, my morning has been... pretty good I suppose." He blinked, reflecting that so far that morning, he hadn't really done anything but come down to the watering hole. "How are you doing this morning? You and..." He flicked one ear towards the bird, unable to remember it's name. He wasn't really sure that he'd ever heard it's name, but figured it probably had one. Threonine had seen it flying alongside Melia for as long as he'd known her, or at least he couldn't remember seeing her without it.

"Her name is Azulli." Melia chimed in as Threonine flicked his ear in the direction of her bluebird companion. "Anyways, my morning has been extremely boring. I've had nothing to do so far. Suddenly, she realized the source of the unexpected boredom she had been experiencing as of late. I'm tired of being the lurker and doing the same things every day. Nothing ever happens when you simply watch.
Melia forced her eyes away from Threonine and she stared down at her hooves. A sudden shyness had taken over her mind as usual. Her voice softened as she continued. "I'm sure Azulli is having a better morning than I have though. She loves the good weather we've been getting lately." Azulli flitted over to Threonine and landed on one of the ram's horns; curious, as he was a a stranger to her.

"Azulli." Threonine repeated the name in hopes that it would help him remember. As she spoke of how her morning had been uneventful he stomped one back hoof against the ground, kicking up a little spray of grass and swishing his tail.
"Who's harem are you in? Rams shouldn't neglect their does, it's just not right!" He frowned in frustration. If rams were fighting over does, why weren't they taking proper care of them? He gazed at Melia for a moment. She was different, he had to admit; with a single horn centered on her head and an almost horse like flowing mane rather than the normal fuzzy backed one. Yet these qualities looked strikingly good on the creamish brown doe, and he had a hard time understanding why a ram would be brain dead enough not to pay more attention to her.

Melia giggled and a small smile appeared on her face once more. "There's no need to get so worked up Threonine. I'm not in anyone's harem yet." Her shyness kicked in again as it often does and she kept her eyes plastered to her hooves, unable to force them up to even glance at Threonine. "I prefer to lurk and stay in the background. But sometimes, that just gets... boring." Melia paused and then added "Maybe even a bit lonely too." She swished her fluffy tail in the direction of a pesky fly that had landed on her rump and she could feel her face warm up ever so slightly.

Threonine's stubborn look of frustration softened. "Yes, I suppose it would be." He admitted, though he had no experiance as a doe. He liked Melia, she seemed very down to earth, genuine. It was nice to meet someone like that once in a while.
His ears flicked up and his eyes brightened. Idea! He had to admit that he was glad to find that she wasn't in a harem, though a little surprised at the same time, "Well Melia, would you like to join a harem? Or more, would you like to join my harem? I'd be glad to have you."

Melia's smile grew a little bit larger and she could feel her face grow warmer as she replied. "I-I'd love to Threonine. That sounds wonderful." She glanced up at Threonine and she could tell he seemed a lot happier and cheerful than before. Her mood brightened as well since she didn't have to stay stuck on the slightly depressing topic of her loneliness. Azulli returned to her place right on top of Melia's speckled shoulder and she seemed to be picking up on Melia's happy mood.

Threonine beamed and gave her a happy nuzzle, "I'm glad." He said. Today was turning out to be much better than he'd origionally expected. He wondered briefly why he hadn't really gotten to know Melia before. But was glad that he had, "Now, you wouldn't happen to be hungry, would you?"
(ack, writers block!)

Melia blushed even harder as Threonine nuzzled her and she softly nuzzled him back. The idea of being in a harem was almost alien to her as she had never been in one before. She had never even had a mate while she was alone, looking for her beloved sister. Still, it felt kind of nice to her and such a caring ram like Threonine made it even better for her. "Um well, maybe a little bit. I've only been nibbling on grass since I woke up this morning." She said shyly.
