Riall bounded in the thick grass of the meadow, it came up the her shoulders and tickled her nose sometimes, making her sneeze or cough. She wasn't suppose to be here as her mother had instructed her to stay near while she took a nap. Riall wanted to go play and she nudging her mother awake, but it wouldn't work, so she went and played by herself, thinking her mother wouldn't mind. She got tired after a while to she sat in the shade nest to a small stream and stared at the water, intrigued a little by how clear it was and how smooth it looked. She got up for a better look and she even noticed some little shapes moving through the water. She leaned over to see if there were any more and before you knew it, she fell face first into the water. Riall got out and sputtered up water and cried to herself since she was so uncomfortable and wet. She wished dearly she hadn't left her mother now. She got out and stood shivering there, alone and cold. She knew she had to get back to her mother, but she was just to cold to move.

*What was that?* Echo, who had been playfully toying with a rather large and fat slug, looked up. Her small ears occasionally throbbed with the sound of trickling water, but that was a peaceful sound, this was more like a splash. She glanced back at her mother. No harm in investigating, Stargazer didn't seem to mind when she wondered off, as long as she wasn't gone for too long. Still, she decided to sneak away quietly, and trotted towards the smell of water, where the splash surely had come from. Before long she came to a point where she could actually see the water, a small stream. Perhaps small wasn't quite the right word, Echo realized suddenly that this must be the steam that ran to Earth Water. She shivered with excitement, how gloriously dangerous! She glanced back to see if any of the older goennecs were watching, since the stream was in the middle of the herd, but none seemed to be near by. Perfect. Echo's mouth opened slightly as it curved into a childish grin. She began to head towards the water again, this time not caring to try and conceal herself. But before she had a chance to reach the water, her eyes flickered towards a shape on the opposite side. Pausing, she was forced to squint in an attempt to recognize what the shape must be. *It's another kid!* She realized, *A wet one.*. Echo wondered if she'd found the source of the splash. Probably, considering how miserable the kid looked. Curious, she moved to the edge and called out, "Hey! Who are you?" Not much of a question, she realized. Maybe the kid wouldn't even be able to hear her, being so wet and all. She narrowed her eyes again, feeling like she should know the kid for some reason. *Oh well. Maybe I should just go over...* After staring at the water for a moment, she jumped, and landed part way across. *Ick!* The water wasn't as warm as she'd counted on, and the little black and purple doe wriggled her way across, bleating loudly in protest of the water. "Goennecs aren't meant to swim." She muttered, not realizing how lucky it was that she'd crossed at the shallow point. As soon as she was out, Echo wasted no time in confronting the stranger. "Hello, you look wet." She said pointedly, shoving her face up to that of the other kid, "I'm wet too."

(i noticed. XD i've just been lazy and tired and.. yeah. :c)
Riall was not expecting another splash so soon after her own, but she jumped when she saw the whole thing happen right in front of her. She noticed it was another kid, exactly her age, but she hadn't seen her around before. She thought she somehow knew this purple and white speckled girl, but knew she had never seen her before in her life. She agreed with a nod and a giggle that Goennecs weren't suppose to swim, maybe wade in the shallow water, but never dog paddle around and swim. She tried to stick words in between her giggles, "Yes, I'm wet," she laughed some more. She helped the seeping little doe up, "Nice to meet you wet."

(aw, it's alright!)
Echo let out a short bleat of both surprise and gratitude at being helped up. For some reason it hadn't occured to her that others could effect her situation, and even the mere act of being stood up sparked something like wonder. But that was lost in an instant. Echo pondered what Riall had said for a moment, taking time for her mind to process the words. The other doe seemed quite friendly, as if they'd met before. Though Echo was quite certain they'd never met, it was odd, somehow. She shrugged it off easily, having a short attention span anyway. "We're both wet!" She giggled after a moment, and then her short attention span got the better of her once again. "My name's Echo. What's yours?" She asked, now staring curiously at the feathers on Riall's back. She'd never seen a Goennec with feathers before, at least, that she could remember. So the concept fascinated her, she wanted to know more. At this age the little black and violet doe wasn't terribly concerned about seeming rude, staring wasn't even something she thought of as being anything really. Still, her question stood and she stuck by it.

Riall giggled and shook her fur again, hoping to get as much water off of herself as she could. She noticed Echo was a little jittery, going from one thing to another quickly, but in a way that was good, somehow. "My name's Riall," She told the other. Quickly, she thought of something that they would both enjoy, "Hey! Do you wanna go play?"

"Riall." Echo repeated her name, rolling it off her tongue as if it were foreign and important. Satisfied with her ability to pronounce it correctly, she perked up at the mention of the word 'play', her ears twitching and tail moving slightly but not entirely unlike a dog. "I'd love to play!" She exclaimed, standing up and shaking her fur to rid herself of some stubborn water droplets. "What do you want to do? Chase, race, explore, toss?" She frowned thoughtfully, trying to think of more games, "I don't play very often." She admitted sheepishly, "So I guess I'll just do whatever you want to do."
