"Ooh, you think you're so darn clever." Flicking out a paw, a young ram with brown fur and bright blue eyes terrorized the unlucky turtle laying upside-down and in front of him. It had curled up in its protective shell, startled by the ram as he approached. Tercel considered this to be unsporting behavior, and that automatically made the turtle an enemy of sorts. The unfortunate creature had just happened to be in his path, as Tercel often went out walking in the mornings. He enjoyed taking these little walks, even though his foster mother was no longer enforcing it as a way to blow off extra energy. It gave him some time to just goof around and be himself. Growing up just happened too fast, without leaving enough time for the better things in life. The fun things.
"Come out and face me you coward!" Tercel shouted at the turtle again, tapping its shell with one of his hooves. As he danced around it, loudly exclaiming, "Coward! Coward!" the dark legged ram assumed that nobody would actually hear him. But maybe he was wrong.

Striking golden eyes focused on his target, the little goey swished his tail, barely sweeping over the feathery grass in which he was hiding. He held his breath, tensing his hind legs as he scanned his surroundings, then leapt forward.
"Gotcha!"
Takuo cried, flattening the leaf between his front paws. He gently lifted a paw,, making sure the leaf wasn't too damaged or tattered and watched it float up into the air on a whoosh of wind and go swirling, swirling up towards the sky, and he bounced after it, giggling happily all the way. He lifted his paw as he spied a large cricked perched on a slab of stone, then perked his ears as he heard a voice, echoing through the valley.
"Coward? Who you callin a coward?" T whined, glancing all around for the source of the voice.

Tercel stopped in his tracks and stood very still for a moment, his floppy ears twitched and he was forced to turn his head towards the source of the sound. Yes, he'd definitely heard something, or rather, someone.
It sounded like it had come from the other side of a rock slab, he could see it now. Whoever had spoken must not not be able to see him either. He crept forward, abandoning the turtle for a new, more interesting subject. "Depends on who wants to know." Tercel replied, poking his head around the rock as he spied T. This goennec looked familiar, he knew he'd seen T before, but for some reason couldn't remember his name.

Takuo perked his ears, scanning all around for the source of the voice.
"C'mon, where are ya?" He asked, then started, mane ruffling as he heard a rustle of grass behind him.
"Oh!"
He greeted, perking up, his golden eyes shining with laughter. "Hi!"

"Hello T." Tercel couldn't help returning Takuo's smile. His memory had decided to be forgiving, at least enough for him to recall a nickname. Something about the young ram's bright eyed charisma was infectious, and Tercel easily succumbed to happier ailments. He didn't really know Takuo very well, but already was considering the other as a potential friend. This creamish furred ram had always seemed friendly, anyhow.
"I guess you're not the coward then. Hope I haven't interrupted your... Hm, hunting?" Tercel tipped his head to one side. In fact, he realized, he had no idea what the other young ram had been doing out here. It was possible that Takuo liked taking walks to blow of steam too, but he couldn't seem to bring himself to ask directly.

"Morning! I was just exploring 'cause Kaze was still sleeping and I was just so bored and I don't like being bored and I love exploring and Kaze had told me about this great spot in the woods he and Alaska had found last spring so I went to go find it and then I saw this huge oak leaf so I snuck up on it and pounced on it, then watched it go up and float away so chased it some more then I saw this huge cricket and I was just about to chase it when, well, I heard you!"
Takuo finished, his golden eyes shining with excitement and his ebony rimmed ears perked happily.

It took a moment for Tercel to register all of what Takuo had said, and he's blue eyes widened ever so slightly as he did this. Admittedly the young ram wasn't exactly one of the smartest in the herd, far from it. But he liked to pretend that the opposite was true, and whenever he got to feeling slow that more mischievous side would not hesitate to surface.
"That's extensive." He finally let out a short laugh, stepping out further into the open. There didn't seem to be any need to stay under cover, with no immediate threats, Tercel was feeling confident today. He eyed Takuo for a moment longer, wondering how gullible this talkative fellow might be.
"Kaze is right though." He added, "There is a great spot for exploring not far from here. I don't know if it's the same spot, but sometimes I go there myself if I'm feeling brave enough. I like to spy, and there's a monster that lives out here in the woods. I don't think most even know it's here, because it's always sitting so still, lying in wait. But I've seen it, and I've even heard it speak." His expression changed, and he glanced around, as if suddenly weary that someone might be watching, perhaps even the monster itself. "I can show it to you, if you promise to keep it a secret."
