As Hannie answered, he nodded, unaware of how he had uselessly rambled. He grinned as she mentioned how he shouldn't be bothering anyone so early, and his tail wagged happily.
"I prefer grazing early in the morning. Blossom passed on to me her love of dew filled grass. We could go and find a nice patch of flowers for taste however. I would of course hunt for you. I cannot leave you to starve, especially during the Siv. You will need your full strength later in the season," he mentioned, knowing a female without a caring stag later after Siv would either die or have a miscarriage, and he did not want that to happen to the ones in his harem.

Tensing his legs, Kaze kept his eyes, glowing a vivid emerald, on his target, determined for the hunt to be successful. Taking a deep breath, Kaze leaped forward; though he was once hidden, he now burst out among the sweet feathery grasses, still tipped with cool droplets of dew. Sensing the ram's action, the mottled brown hare scrambled; preparing to dart forward. Oh no you don't! Kaze thought, determined--well, he really hoped--that the swift hare wouldn't escape from him. Cutting sideways, the ram rushed forward; his hooves and paws pumelling the ground below as he bounded towards the hare. Breathing in, Kaze leaped, the wind ruffling his grey fur as he cut through the air, catching his target by surprise as he came down to the earth; his hooves on either side of the rabbit. Quickly dispatching it with a bite so it would feel no pain, Kaze looked up, grinning at Alaska...well, as much as a goennec could that had a mouthful of fur. Though he was hunting, Kaze was thankful for the rabbit...and relieved that he had made the catch, as well. "Gu de ffecnd coath." Kaze said, his words muffled as he stepped toward Alaska, laughing slightly.
{"Got the second catch." Is what that jumble of letters is supposed to say. XD;}

"About time! I've been wondering when I'd hear of a kid from those two. He'll be a handsome kid too, don't you think? Their colors will certainly be an interesting mix." The conversation likely wouldn't go far, but they were nearing their destination so it wouldn't matter. She did, however, notice Devi and Garnet begin a race and quickened her step slightly. Getting there after them wasn't such a big deal, but she didn't want it to seem as though it was her purpose to run into them.
Devi was surprised to see the doe rush ahead of him. He laughed loudly and shouted back to her. "Not for long!" He lengthened his strides and caught up, but instead of passing her he drew even with her. "Having a leisurely stroll are we?" He teased, grinning at her. He loved the feeling of running. The grasses rushing beneath his hooves and the wind flowing through his mane and tail invigorated him. He relished the feeling as the two neared the dandelion patch.
Lu Ten rocked nervously on his four hooves. He'd been in this situation before, watching a herd from where he'd first spotted them in the forest by their valley. He scanned the herd trying to pick out the Prime or at least the prince, but this was not a very small herd and such titles could not be determined from the current happenings. For a moment, he considered moving on to find a smaller herd to try again to start a new life in, but soon thought better of it. He was growing old, forty four years now and his time outside herd life had taken it's toll. His bones were still strong and he stood as tall as he had in his Primehood with pride in his stance, but he was thin and tired. Lu decided to wait and observe for a bit before trying to confront anyone. "Look before you leap, Lu." He told himself as he settled among the forest growth.

Blossom followed after her and nodded. "They will. I just hope that if it is a ram, he has the luck of having horns instead of feathers. Nixx was lucky enough to have survived to find a mate at a young age, but another stag might not be so lucky."
As she spoke, Blossom noticed the elder hurry her step, and her head tilted curiously as she hurried her own step to match Forest's. She opened her mouth to mention this, but then shut it again, not sure if the elder would appreciate being asked about her joints so early in the morning.

"Hmmhmm" she agreed, nodding her head. "Feathers may be attractive, but the young ram would be lucky to have a decent place in the herd." She suddenly thought of how hard it must have been on Nixx growing up. Perhaps that was why he was more shy and timid than the other males."Although, if it's a female, the feathers would make her a prize for the future rams of our herd. They'd no doubt make her quite a beauty." She imagined what a feathered female kid might look like. She liked that thought much better and she smiled to herself.

MilkyWay watched Nixx silently for a moment, noting that his mood seemed to have dropped since earlier that morning. It was understandable, she just wished she knew better how to comfort him. Usually rams didn't want to be comforted anyway, something having to do with their image as the stronger sex she imagined. However, the moment he said, "I know.", she couldn't help but lean forward to lick him on the bride of the nose. "Nixx..." She tried to think of the right thing to say, but finally decided to start eating the rabbit. At least she could show him that she appreciated him and the food he brought back for her, since she wasn't always so good with words. There was little she loved more than the juicy meat of a rabbit, the skin was nearly paper thin and although they didn't have a whole lot of meat on them and about a third was fur, the taste was something you just couldn't buy. Rabbits were the perfect meat for her, being a Goennec she didn't need a whole lot, it was a treat in itself. It lifted her mood immediately and she started to let out a soft rumbly sound a bit like a purr. "You're the best hunter I know." She said proudly, taking another bite. Her comment brought his spirit up some and he gave her a small smile. She always lifted his head high after he fell into a pit and was lathered with sticky hard mud. She knew him well, possibly better than he knew himself. They had spent a lot of time together and Nixx was happy he chose her as a mate to keep her forever instead of letting her sweet soul go and drift with other testosterone-high males.
He gave her a playful smirk on her comment, "I know I am." He laughed, licked her back and gave her a meaningful look, "How have you been feeling lately?" He asked, "Even though you still have a whole season to go and all, I worry about you. A lot, and I won't ever leave your side. Just so you know." (@kam: just wanted to apologize for my short posts. :/ its hard for me to write a lot..)

"That sounds good," Hannie smiled, the thought of fresh grass very inviting. "I agree, I thought grass and flowers tasted better in the morning." She nodded in agreement, although a little bit of surprise which soon changed to pleasure lit her face. She knew that it was normal for males to be protective and caring during Siv, but since it was her first and she was used to being on her own, it made her feel particularly special to have someone care for her so much. "Well, then, lets find a flower patch," she said, snapping back to reality and moving a little bit forward. "Do you know of any particularly tasty ones, or should we just try the first one we stumble across?" she said with a slight chuckle.

Blossom remained quiet for a second, thinking about what the doe had just said. "Sometimes something that seems like a blessing can be a curse in disguise. True, she would be beautiful, but what stag would be willing to risk having a feathered son to carry on his line?" she muttered her voice hinting at there being more to this than what she had just said.
Her face was facing towards her front as she spoke, a far off look in her eyes as memories crossed her head, memories of two siblings who enjoyed nothing more than bothering a young white doe and her painfully different pelt markings.
Sam's face screwed up with the effort of thinking, his mind trying to recall the sweetest grass he had tasted. His face brightened as he remembered, his eyes shining with happiness.
"At the edge of the valley there is a patch of grass close to the stream. That patch of grass has the most amazing grass, unspoiled and with the gentle fragrance of clovers, which are always a treat to find. What say you?" he asked, his tail wagging once more and his posture falling to that of a playful pup, hoping that Hannie would agree to his taste of clovers.

Forest's face fell as she realized what Blossom was saying. "Must be so hard to have your floral pattern" She said quietly. "But you're right, things aren't always what they seem. However, it works in the opposite way as well." Her smile returned and she looked Blossom directly in the eye as she continued. "After all, any ram who pursues you must care that much less about the shame of such a kid and that much more about you. Even if he himself doesn't realize the feeling, it must be there, why else would he go to the trouble?"

Hannie patiently watched him think with a grin. She nodded as he proposed the location, deciding that wading a little in the water would be fun too. "Yes say I," she responded cheerily, "Clovers are one of my favorites." She dropped a little in a similar pose, before prancing off in the direction of the stream. "What're we waiting for, slowpoke?" she called back, her voice teasing. As she waited for him to catch up, she glanced about as the other Goennecs went about their daily business. Just a few days ago, I was hardly part of the herd -I mean, techinically I was, but it wasn't like I was involved much, she realized. And now, I'm part of a harem and I actually have more than one friend. Funny how things can change so quickly...

Blossom's ears perked up a little at this as she stared back at the doe. Her face felt a bit flushed with embarrassment, although this was unnoticeable through her white coat. Her thoughts turned to the two males that had fought for her during the first day of Siv, and of how arrogant Devi had seemed and how dismissive Sam was being. She knew that Sam would not mind having a son with a floral pattern, but she still couldn't help but feel that he would never get around to it, while she had felt that Devi simply wished to have the biggest harem around.
"Well, your way of thinking about it sure is prettier than my thoughts on stags right now..." she answered, a small glimmer of humor in her voice.
Sam was taken by surprise as he saw Hannie running away from where she had stood at for a second, and his face broke to a smirk as he heard her calling him. He reared up playfully, his feathered paws waving like young horse's hooves. "Is that a challenge?" he called back, then broke to a run after her, making sure to stay beside her as they headed towards the clovers.

Hannie smirked, laughter flitting through the air as she sped up. "If you want it to be," she answered playfully, wondering if she could actually beat him. Probably not, she thought, glancing over at the large stag. She may have been fast and fairly strong, but he was bigger and no doubt stronger than her. She decided to stick with running along beside him, speeding up a few times in small attempts to pass him. She thought she knew where the clover patch he was talking about was, so she headed that way. Glimpsing the stream, she pranced over and stopped, bowing her head down near it's bank. Her tongue flicked out, and she took a long refreshing drink before looking back up to Sam. She flicked a little bit of water at him with a cheeky grin, then noticed the patch of clovers and pranced over to have breakfast.

Talahasi looked to make sure Monsoon wasnt around, he didn't want to fight because deep down he knew thats why lavantia said no to both of them. She didnt want them to fight. Then he continued over to Tia bowing when he got there to put up a good show. "Beatiful one will you do me the honor of being in my harem." he said grinning up at her as her face began to burn red.
Tia blushed when Tala kneeled at her feet and asked her to be in his harem. He was very charming so she decided since monsoon had shown no more intrest it was safe to say yes and not to worry about a fight. She nodded her head as she was at a loss for word at the moment. She laughed when he jumped up in joy.
Talahasi was amazed when she said yes and jumped with joy. He grinned when he heard her tinkling laugh. He had know in the end he would get at least one female but had surprised to get the one that had turned him down once before. "Shall we go?" he asked.When she nodded they left together.

As they reached the clover patch by the edge of the stream, Sam wagged his tail happily, then looked over at Hannie as he approached her, and was surprised by drops of water attacking his face. Feeling the drops running down his nose, Sam took his paw up to attempt to dry his face, but before he could do so, a booming sneeze escaped him, making him loose his balance and fall in a sitting position, his eyes wide with shock.
Embarrassment flushed through him, knowing how ridiculous a stag his size must look, falling over a sneeze. However, the embarrassment didn't last song as he stood up quickly and charged Hannie, his horns playfully nudging her sides. "How dare you attack me with your water drops! I shall take this as a very serious crime, one that shall not go unpunished!" he said in mock anger, his eyes twinkling.

Melia sat in the lush open field, staring at her hooves as thoughts rushed through her jumbled mind. It was the Siv once again, a time of the year she had never really experienced before. She had been a loner most of her life. What male would want to court a lowly peasant like me anyways? Melia's hopes of finding a harem were not very high, certainly not with her several differences. For some reason she felt extremely nervous ever since Devarsi had announced it was the Siv season. Melia rose to her delicate feet and pranced away from some nearby Goennecs as she preferred to stay away from others. She looked wishfully out to the others in the field as the females chatted with the eager and happy looking males. She knew there were already a few females who belonged to a harem and she envied them just slightly. Wouldn't it be nice to raise a kid, and Londi could help me with the little one's upbringing. Melia thought to herself as she watched the cheerful Goennecs. Azulli was chirping joyfully while sitting on Melia's shoulder enjoying the lovely weather. "Shhhh Azulli, your singing is messing up my train of thought." Melia muttered as she once again fell into her deep thoughts. There wasn't much else for her to do anyways.

Alaska sat and watched as Kaze caught the hare. She realized she had been holding her breath, and let it out when he pounced on the creature as it began to run. "Nice catch," she said, her voice no longer muffled by prey. She dashed off to pick up the rabbit from where she had set it down before returning to Kaze. When he said something, it came out very odd sounding, and Alaska realized that was what she might've sounded like. She allowed herself to laugh, and though it only lasted a brief moment, it brought a light to the doe's usually unsmiling face. Her eyes shone in the sun, and she dashed up to Kaze and quickly nuzzled his cheek, before backing up and looking into his deep emerald eyes. Realization of what she just did flashed in Alaska's eyes, and she lowered her head, slightly shamed at her outright show of affection. What has this herd done to me? she wondered. I'm interested to learn about this Lu Ten!

"Fanks," Kaze said, grinning, though his mouth was still filled with fur from his catch. Shifting his hooves, he set down his catch in a bed of soft grass, still shining with a few droplets of cool dew. He felt himself smile as he let the wind ruffle his fur gently, his rime-grey pelt shining in the sun, enjoying the soft breeze. Glancing up, he opened his mouth to say something to her, green eyes shining, then almost gasped in surprise as Alaska burst forward and nuzzled him. Kaze smiled back at her, his surprise replaced with a feeling of warmth. Emerald eyes meeting hers, he took a step forward and gently nuzzled her creamy white cheek in return, hoping that she wouldn't mind. Backing up once more, he smiled at her, somewhat embarrassed, though his feeling of happiness was much stronger than his subtle feeling. "So," he began, "What do you want to do, now? Continue hunting, or what?" Kaze laughed, his cheerful voice breaking the silence. He was bubbly and good-natured as always, and glad to be spending his morning with Alaska. {Same! XD}

"Err," Alaska began uneasily as Kaze broke the awkward silence. "I don't really care, much." The doe began to regain her confidence, and she flashed a quick smile to the rime-grey ram. "What's your mind pointing to? Perhaps we could eat our catch, and go for a walk, or?" The cream and gray doe left her last reply open for consideration, wondering what Kaze would think of. Really, what do rams think of? Alaska found herself wondering, and silently laughed. Noting that a few other rams hunted with a doe or two from their harems, Alaska's gaze swept the rest of the valley, considering the options.

"Don't worry too much." MilkyWay gave Nixx what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "I feel pretty well actually. Mostly just feel like sleeping and eating more. I'm a bit nervous too." She admitted sheepishly, "But I think the first time is always like that, I've never had a kid before."
Silently she did have misgivings about if or not the kid would have horns. Male or female, it could potentially be a problem. No doubt, if it inherited any of her and Nixx's colors, it would be stunningly beautiful... She hoped that would make up for anything else. But she still had confidense that no matter what she'd love him or her all the same, and felt sure that Nixx would too.
"Thank you, by the way." She added, "It does mean a lot." She gave him a playful nudge on the shoulder, "At least it's only one season! I'm sure you're suffering!"
Stargazer stood up and shook the dirt and grass from her fur, noting that it was likely to have stained her white mane while she slept. Alas, it was almost a curse to be so black with a mane so white, it stuck out like... well... white on black. She let out a wide yawn, now what was the first thing on the list of things to do? She wondered aimlessly towards the rest of the herd, thinking it'd come to her in good time.

"Sure," Kaze agreed, nodding. "Then we could go down to the stream, or something. Maybe we could figure out what else to do once we get there." The grey ram laughed, shaking his silvery mane out of his eyes. He looked around, considering. "Or we could go down to the edge of the valley and explore a bit." He shrugged, green eyes shining with amusement. "I have no idea." It was a perfect morning, weather mild with a cool breeze that rustled the grasses in the valley; a wonderful day. He considered for a moment, almost suggesting that they go visit Forest, but he wasn't sure--after all, the elder was probably busy on such a pleasant morning. Well, who knows! He thought, then decided to make a suggestion anyway. "Maye later we could go visit Forest, or something, I don't know." Forest was one of the friendliest goennecs in the herd, and almost all of the goeys, if not all enjoyed visiting her. "What do you think?" Kaze looked around for a moment, feeling the cool breeze ruffle his fur, then looked back at Alaska, grinning. {Gahh I don't know, I couldn't think of anything. XD;}
