"Let's go explore a bit! And then when we get tired of that, we can talk to Forest. Does that sound okay?" Alaska asked. She absentmindedly glanced around the herd, but didn't spot the elder doe. What she did see, however, where many harems milling about. Alaska almost asked Kaze why he hadn't competed for any more does to join his harem. It was almost the end of the Siv. Clearing her thoughts, she looked up and said, "Let's go!" Roshan smiled, the prey dangling from his mouth. He was headed for he last left Stargazer sleeping. He didn't see her in the squished-down grass where she had been asleep, so he scanned the area for her. Stargazer was a short distance away, and he trotted up to join her, dropping the rabbit at her feet. "I got up a bit early, and went hunting for a little before you woke up. I figured you might be hungry." The vibrant ram gazed at the black and white doe, a bashful expression on his face. What was it about Stargazer that made him so nervous?

"Yeah, sounds awesome!" Kaze said, grinning back at her. Exploring was something he loved to do; whether it was through the forest or just around the valley. A mischevious look entered his emerald eyes; their brilliant depths sparkling. "Race ya!" He laughed, grabbing the rabbit he had caught in his jaws, and whipping around, prepared to run. The gentle breeze ruffled his mane, and he shook it out of his eyes. "Wa ah w wahtin fu?" Kaze murmured around a mouthful of fur, smiling in a joking way. He knew his words were muffled, but he didn't care; he just laughed.

Garnet grinned, throwing her head back and laughing to the sky. She turned to grin at Devi. "I suppose so," She replied, raising a brow before once again racing off. She looked behind her, watching the Prime as he practically basked in the feeling of running. Suddenly, she look forwards, feeling dandelions under her paws. She slowed to a halt and turned around, watching Devi with an expression that seemed to say "I won and you lost". She was bragging with her eyes, it seemed. She wasnt one to brag usually, but beating the Prime to the dandelion patch made her feel very happy. It was then she remebered Secretariat, and she gazed down towards where he stood, awaiting Devi. It made her feel the slightest bit worried, but she felt more flattered than anything. Both were fine males and she didnt know who to choose. Devi needed her in his harem to maintain pride, because with only one female he would seem weak. But Secretariat needed her because the male had no females at all, and to be honest, Garnet liked him. She grinned, letting out a breath and panting in exhaustion. She never ran that much, or at least she hadnt run that much in a while. She bent down and grabbed a dandelion, chewing on it absentmindedly as she waited for Devi.

Devi laughed to himself as she sped up and slowed his own pace to an amble. 'Does' He chuckled inwardly. With any ram he would have raced himself into the ground to win, but does were different. They got moody and angry if they didn't get their way. Losing a race was a small price to pay for happy does. "Enjoying your meal?" He asked once he'd neared her. His steps slowed to a soft prance until he was right up next to her where he bent down to grab a mouthful of the tender weeds for himself. The petals were bitter, but the milk in the stems was as sweet as ever. By now, the dew was gone, but the plants were still cool in the early sun. He savored the morsels, closing his eyes and laying his ears back.
Forest laughed lightly. "They're not so bad. Put up with their macho stupidity and there's actually some emotional depth, they're just too thickheaded to realize what it is they feel." Her eyes shone. She was thinking of her own past loves. Sadly, they had not led far, but they were always fun while they lasted. She was snapped out of her thoughts by the joyful shouts from Devi and Garnet. In their conversation they had caught up quickly. She kept quite and continued on towards them, knowing that Blossom would probably be putting two and two together soon.
Lu Ten watched from his place hidden among the bushes. He watched as a few of the couples began to race around, enjoying themselves. "Surely the Prime would be watching the herd." He thought, a bit confused by the carefree mood of the herd. "He must be hidden somewhere, keeping a watchful eye on his family." He struggled slowly to his feet to better see the herd. He scanned the treeline. Suddenly, he spied Secretariat among the trees not too far off. "That must be him. That look of determination says power. Small for a Prime though . . ." He headed towards the ram, careful to make sure he was making some noise. He didn't want the other to think he was trying to attack. 'Maybe I'll have better luck here.'

Secretariat's ears whipped back as he heard Lu Ten, though he continued to watch Devi intently. Nothing- absolutely nothing- could be allowed to distract him, lest he find himself late and, therefore, alone. It seemed Devi had forgotten about him, at least, he hadn't stopped to look his way. Probably for the best; he'd have some sort of element of surprise. As for the new ram.... He wasn't too worried.

Hannie watched Sam as he flailed, sneezed, and eventually landed on the ground, and stared at him for a second in surprise before bursting out into laughter. "That.... that...." she stammered, trying to form a sentence between giggles. She suddenly felt a pressure on her side, and looked over to find Sam butting against her. She took on a fake-stern face, jumping to the side and nudging him gently back with her small horns. "Oh really? I'd like to see you try and punish me," she said with a smirk, flitting away in the blink of an eye. "Just try and catch me now!" she called teasingly, winking.

As Forest spoke, Blossom shook her head, a smile in her face as she felt herself cheering up some. Laughter and noise met her ears, and Blossom turned her face towards their destination, only to see Garnet and Devi eating dandelions together, a smug look on Garnet's face - very different to the Garnet that Blossom had met at the stream - and a relaxed Devi, just nibbling away at some of the flowers.
Her eyes gained a small glint in them, one of suspicion and sudden wit that rarely ever crossed her face, as it was the part of her she tended to keep hidden, not out of cunning and wanting to trick others, but out of her own lack of confidence in how right or wrong she might be. She turned her purple eyes to Forest, and quirked an eyebrow for a second. Just what is this doe playing at?
As Hannie ran from Sam, his face broke to a smirk that he normally wore when he was about to make one of his childish pranks. He reared in fake anger, his feathered paws moving fast, his horns glinting and obvious through his shaggy mane. The gray stag then placed his paws down, his amber eyes on Hannie as he dragged his paw along the dirt, looking like a stag ready to commence a fight. "I shall catch you yet! You shall not run away!" he called out, his eyes twinkling as he started after her, all thoughts of luscious clovers gone as he followed.

"Oh dear, I'm frightened," she said in a calm, teasing voice as she pranced around just beyond his reach. Her eyes glinted with humor, and she taunted him as she evaded him. "Uh oh, he's coming! Oh, you got close that time! I bet you'll catch me eventually," she giggled, side-stepping him. Her back paw felt wet, and she glanced back to find herself up against the water again. "Oh no! You've cornered me," she cried dramatically.

As he followed, he saw Hannie getting cornered against the stream, and his smirk grew wider as he realized his prank would work wonderfully. He took strong strides towards Hannie, and then his face turned into one of horror.
"I can't stop in time, we are going to crash!" he bleated, then at the last second, he skidded to a halt, stopping right in front of Hannie, his nose against her bright red one. His face beamed down at her and he merely stuck out his tongue like a goofy kid, watching her reaction at his charge.

Nixx rolled his eyes playfully, "I can't wait to get rid of you this spring. Your such a drag to have to have around, and all your disgusting smells, UHG!" He made a face and stuck his tug out, which turned to a smirk.
He winked at her and then got up and pinned her down, which came out of no where. His nose nuzzled her neck fur, then he realized this impulse did not come out of no where, it had come from the fact he wanted to see her wholesome, beautiful self, "Do you know how beautiful you are?" He asked, taking in her eyes, face, and dark fur that was tipped in some places with pristine, pearly white fur.
"And you made my day by saying you are feeling alright," and so is the baby, but I care much more for you... He said to himself, but when the child comes, it would balance out as all things eventually do.
Then he thought about the child, how would it look like? Would it be a little beauty? A testosterone hunk? A shy little girl? Who knew, even though he wanted to know a lot, he couldn't, but he understood. One of Nixx's special traits. He understands a lot of things many wouldn't. That's what makes him so odd, he sees things in a different world. For example, he would rather have someone to his own that go through each beautiful, personality-rich, ewe each fall.

Remember Minnie, You have no control over how others think so you cannot say that he has a characteristic unique or unusual to him. ;3 that's a form of controlling other's characters as you're defining what they cannot be.
Forest glanced at Blossom from the corner of her eye and, seeing the purple eyes staring back at her full of sneaking suspicion, smiled slyly. She ignored the fact that Blossom would probably not be fooled any longer, she continued with her plan. "This patch of dandelions is my favorite, Blossom. I've always had good luck after eating a few" She stepped up to the edge of the patch and bent down for a nibble, but she kept her ears swiveled towards the younger doe, eager to hear her response.
Lu Ten stopped dead at the call. He didn't want to anger the other ram by crossing any personal boundries. "My name is Lu Ten." He said evenly, trying to mask the uncertainty in his voice. "I've been a wanderer for quite a while now and, like others who venture out alone, I cannot last too much longer in such a state. I am old and mean you and your herd no harm." Then, with as much charm as he could muster, "Tell, me, sir, are you Prime of this fine herd?" He stood meekly were he had stopped, well within eyesight of the other ram and tried his best to look non-threatening.

Hannie caught her breath slightly, bracing herself for impact from the large ram. Her eyes clenched shut, she waited, but only felt something nudge her nose. Cracking one eye open in confusion, she found herself staring straight into Sam's beaming face. It took her but a second to realize he had tricked her, and grinned, chuckling. "Ha ha, you got me," she beamed back up at him, wondering slightly if she would be able to push him into the water -probably not, considering the angle was all wrong and he was bigger than her. Better dump that plan out the window. She stuck her tongue out childishly a little in return, getting up and walking around him back to the clover patch. "That made me hungry," she commented.

Garnet grinned and nodded enthusiastically, savouring each bite of the dandelions. Though the dew had gone, the weeds were still beautiful tasting. She spat out a few of the petals, wrinkling her nose in distaste at their bitterness, but the rest of the dandelion was so nice she had forotten about the taste of the petals before long. She was unsure of what to say, and it was in this moment that a flash of the Garnet that the doe had been the day the Siv had begun was there, then she was gone, replaced by the rather smug and euphoric doe she was at this very moment. She peered down the hill to see a stranger speaking to Secretariat, but it didnt worry her, as the Goennec did not seem menacing. She then turned to see Blossom and Forest making their way towards her and the Prime. She let out a frightened yelping noise, though it was more surprised than anything. She dropped the dandelion she was chewing, and it fell to the floor. "Devi...Blossom is coming this way...What do we do?" She asked, her voice hushed and her eyes wide. The sun shone on her auburn fur, making it seem almost red. She relished the warmth, but instead of basking in it like she usually did, she remained intent on Blossom and Forest. SHe hadnt really spoken to Blossom since Sam had won her over, and the doe suspected the first meeting would be rather...awkward. [/color]

Devi's head shot up. His eyes wide and ears pressed towards the approaching does. But, he was suddenly aware that there really was no reason for him to be so interested. "Uh . . . Just, act natural, I guess? I don't know . . . she's probably just here for the flowers anyway . . ." Though, the presence of Forest made him wonder if there was some other reason for her to be here. He shifted uncomfortably and lowered his head to feign grazing as he watched the pair. /fail short post

She had seen the sly smile that had crossed the elder, and her ear gave a small twitch, but she remained by her first choice of remaining silent on the matter. As they got to the dandelion patch, she saw Forest bending down and beginning to graze, and her ears swiveled as she heard the doe comment on how luck seemed to strike her in this patch.
A good natured eye roll escaped Blossom, then she shook her head and bent down, taking some dandelions with her. She still didn't know what exactly the elder was playing at, and she could feel the discomfort in Garnet's and Devi's eyes as they had approached, so doubt flickered at them being the center of Forest's attention. "Did you know..." she started, a dissmissive tone in her voice. "That dandelions represent faithfulness and happiness." She smiled, then kept at the one she was chewing on until she reached the stem. "My mother always told me that this was because one had to keep on faithfully chewing at the petals.... and happiness would reward you when you reached the stem." She swallowed the stem and gave a sideways glance to Forest, a small smile in her face.
Sam's face grew a bit more serious at this and he bowed his head and backed away a little, leaving her to lead the way. "I shall accompany you to the spot of your choice then. After all, what kind of a stag tricks a lovely doe the way I did to afterwards not give her first choice in gracing." Saying this, he licked her gently on the cheek, then nudged her playfully.
Despite him being the prankster he was, he rarely ever played his tricks on does, and when he did, a small pang of guilt always lingered. Had Hannie been a stag, she would have landed on the water at that charge and he would have bolted away, bleating happily. But his protective demeanor at the does in his harem refused to allow him to cause them any kind of harm.

Sec's tail bristled slightly, not at all used to being mistaken for a Prime- He knew Rannoch was, on occasion, but Rannoch was a massive ram compared to him. "No, I'm not Prime. He's eating at the moment with part of his harem." He restrained his voice, at least; though tight, he didn't feel much like making a real enemy, elderly or not. He tapped one of his rear hooves against the ground, getting slightly antsy with the passing of time- each and every second was another second lost of the last dregs of the Siv... and a lost chance for him.

"Sure!" Treonine stared at her for a moment, not to be rude, but because he thought her behaviour curious. It made him wonder if something was wrong. Is she reluctant? He wondered for a moment, No, exactly the opposite... Maybe I just wasn't expecting... Hm.
After that he tried not to think anymore. This was the end of the Siv, not "think about the little stuff" time. So instead he gave her a warm smile and swished his tail in a reassuring way. Also, he was getting hot and a few flies, he wasn't sure how they managed to be so far up in the mountains in the first place, were starting to bother him. Then, without pause, he turned to canter down towards the watering hole and giving a bound every now and then.
The watering hole itself wasn't actually far away, around the edge of the edge of the field where rocks in the mountain had been curved into a small dip many years ago. Perhaps it had once been deeper, but now it was shallow enough to stand in.
Threonine stopped by the edge and turned back, just to check that Alithea was coming. He still wasn't afraid of rejection, but he was still going to give it his best effort. Hopefully he wouldn't have to worry too much. He found in the past that if does are caught slightly off guard, and not feeling particularly prideful at that particular moment, they're more likely to agree to joining a harem. It didn't matter to him whether they were shining clean at that particular moment, or had just caught a particularly juicy piece of prey, so long as he didn't get a kick to the face or an angry "No!". (** SORRY sorry sorry sorry sorry superultralate reply is superultralate >.< **) Well, he didn't comment on her strange behaviour. That was one good thing, at least. Giving her dusty pelt another shake, Alithea stood up, let out a deep breath as a sort of mock stretch and then took off after the Prince, her four paws flying over the dew-dipped ground. Dark mane streaming behind her small figure, she felt herself relax for the first time in days, and that by itself was enough to bring a smile to her face. The Siv was finally ending, she could actually predict how she would act now, and she might even be a part of the Prince's harem.
Slowing down, Alithea's paws pranced to a stop next to Threonine as she dipped her head into the watering hole, her small, pink tongue lapping out at the sweet water that tasted of mountain wind and iron-rich rock. She was understandably thirsty; after all, she hadn't had a drink since she woke up, and Alithea was always thirsty after waking up. Dark green eyes closed against her shattered reflection in the water when small, minisculine droplets stirred up by her tongue proceeded to attack her face. She was feeling more like herself now, and felt like she could finally handle the Prince in a... dignified manner.

Garnet nodded. "I'm not too sure I want to see this likely trainwreck...May I please be excused from it? I'm so sorry to bail on you but the last time I spoke to Blossom was...well, you know. It'd be a bit awkward with her here...My deepest apologies," the doe murmured, hanging her head in shame. "I might go see what's happening with that newcomer," she added, before trotting down the hill in a dejected way. It want honourable to leave the Prime standing there, and Garnet knew it more than anyone did. But avoiding an awkward moment was vital; the doe had been shielded all of her life from moments like those, and she didn't wish to experience any of them soon. She made her way towards Secretariat, sitting beside him and watching the stranger intently with an intense expression. "Who is this?" she asked.

Stargazer took a sharp intake of breath at the sound of footsteps, but when she turned her head and realized it was Roshan she allowed herself to relax. Just one glance was enough to feel as if, no matter what, everything was okay. "Thanks Roshan, I am hungry." She shot him a grin and leaned down to bite a chunk off of the rabbit. It was good, and she had to make a conscious effort not to wolf it all down at once. "You want a bite?" She asked, nudging it towards him.
MilkyWay pretended to look shocked for a moment, and then let out a rich laugh. "How would you know? I'm almost pitch black, maybe I'd be REALLY ugly without all my fur." She leaned up and gave him a swift lick on the nose.
"I bet ours will be the first born this year." MilkyWay beamed.

She nudged him a little back, continuing towards the patch. "Just be warned, I might try and get you back eventually," she smirked over her shoulder before starting to graze. The clovers and grass were fresh and delicious; a good choice for breakfast on Sam's part. "This tastes really good, nice choice," she commented with a sweet smile in his direction. /Failshortpost
